What is needaride.com.au? What is needaride.com.au NOT?
The needaride.com.au website has been especially created to make the life of anyone who wants to travel cheaply around Australia a lot easier. This website basically functions as a virtual notice board where people can post messages for free offering or requesting rides. We don't make any arrangements for you; we just provide a platform on which you can post your offers and requests and search those of others. Once you have found the details you need to get in contact yourself (by phone or email) with the other person and work out the details of fuel costs, time of departure and the meeting point.
How do I post an offer/request for a ride?
To post an offer or request for a ride on our website you have to register first. Your details can only be seen by others who have registered. To register click on "register here" in the menu. Once you are registered you can post offers and requests by clicking on "enter rides".
How long does my posted offer/request stay on the site?
The posted offer/request will be automatically removed from public display one week after the last date of departure has passed. However, all offers/requests will be kept in your personal account until you delete them yourself.
How much does it cost to check/post offers/requests for rides on needaride.com.au?
Posting or checking offers/requests on needaride.com.au is for free! People offering rides and people requesting rides can find each other on this common platform without any interference and can find the details needed to contact each other to come to an agreement on the division of fuel costs and the meeting point individually.
I tried to post a request/offer for a ride but my place of departure/arrival is not listed. What should I do?

What are permanent rides?
Because there are better things to do in live than fill in forms, we have devised this option for people who frequently travel from one place to another. If you have to commute between Brisbane and Bundaberg every Monday and Friday, you just enter your offer ticking the permanent ride box. Then you will be asked on what day you usually make your daily/weekly trip.
The rest of the information is the usual: where you're leaving from, where you're going to and what time you plan on leaving.
This request/offer will be updated every day so if you're going on holiday or stop commuting for some other reason don't forget to cancel your offer/request unless you really dig those phone calls.
In order to keep the database as up-to-date as possible, a permanent ride will be deactivated automatically by the maintenance system after a period of 60 days. The user who posted the ride will be informed by e-mail. If the user is still interested in holding up the permanent ride, he can reactivate it anytime.
